Lunch Menus

We serve children with

  • multiple disabilities

  • behavioral problems

  • emotional difficulties

  • learning disabilities

  • mental retardation

  • autism

Admissions

Most children are enrolled in PHILLIPS by their public school system. Usually the admissions process is as follows:

  • PHILLIPS receives referral file

  • PHILLIPS calls parent(s) to arrange free interview

  • Admissions team reviews child's history

  • Parents and/or guardians attend interview with child (a requirement)

Fees

  • Placement agency pays full tuition and transportation fees

  • Family may place child independently and assume financial responsibility

School Year

  • September through June (School calendar may be accessed above)

  • Extended School Year (ESY) program - 5 weeks in summer

The Support Staff

As part of the team approach, professionals offer individual and group services and integrated sessions in the classroom.  This staff includes:

  • Family specialists

  • Career Education staff

  • Behavioral specialists

  • Reading Specialist

  • Technology Specialist

  • Related service staff:                      

    o speech and language therapists
    o counselors
    o occupational therapists
    o physical therapists
    o social workers
    o psychologists

Accreditation

  • Certified to operate by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Education

  • Accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Education Facilities whose process has been approved by the Virginia Counsel for Private Education as authorized by the Virginia State Board of Education

  • Approved for placement by Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia

  • Member of the National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children

Laurel

  • Approved by the Maryland State Department of Education

  • Approved for placement by the District of Columbia

  • Member of the Maryland Association for Non-Public Special Education Facilities

  • Member of the National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children
